A. The Meaning of the Word “Deism”

Question 7

How Do Reason and Revelation Differ?

There are many examples. Reason can deduce God's existence by seeking the cause of nature, but Christians affirm that God is a Trinity of Persons on the basis of revelation. The idea that God can be One and yet Three is not intelligible to reason, nor does the Christian expect it to be. The idea of the Trinity is affirmed on faith, but the mind can affirm that God exists through reflection on nature.
