Black Eye

B. The Unity of All Religious Believers

Question 5

How Does Reason Know Moral Truth?

The natural good is self-evident. For example, we do not need to be taught that murder is wrong. To witness the loss of an innocent human life is to be presented with an evil that is immediately known. Similarly, charity and kindness present themselves directly to the mind as natural goods. We cannot change these truths; therefore, they are objective.
