B. The Unity of All Religious Believers

Question 10

Are You Advocating for a Theocracy?

In a theocracy, priests or other ministers of religion rule the people. In a democratic republic, the people rule themselves. When the people declare that certain religious truths are evident to reason, as our Founders did in the Declaration of Independence, they do not establish a theocracy, but affirm those theological and moral principles that are essential to self-government.
