C. Religious Truth in Public Life

Question 7

How Do the Rational and the Revealed Differ?

Rational religious truths are known to reason, independently of revelation. Revealed religious truths depend on faith in revelation. For example, to say that there is a God is to affirm what can be known by reason, but to say that God is a Trinity of Persons requires an act of faith. To say that one God is Three Persons contradicts reason.
